The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) is an iconic Melbourne event. The MIFF host a feast of cinematic delicacies from over 50 countrie for ninteen days each winter, heavily garnished with a range of parties and special events that cast celebratory mood over the city. The Festival enjoys annual admissions of more than 182,000, making it one of Melbourne's signifcant public events.
In addition to screening films from around fifty countries, MIFF is Australia's largest showcase of new Australian cinema and most voacl champion of both emerging and established local filmmaking talent.

Tom Wills Round

In Round 19 the AFL will celebrate Tom Wills Round, honouring one of Australian football's founding fathers. On Friday evening 8th Aug Melbourne and Geelong will take centre stage at the MCG, nearly 150 years to the day since Melbourne Grammar and Scotch College battled out what is regarded as the fisrt offical Australian Football matvh in what is now known as Yarra Park, Surrounding the MCG. Tom Wills Round will also feature 'Kick around the World Day' on 7th August. Football fans from everywhere are encouraged to take time out of their day, whereever they are to kick a footy with friends.
